How to play

Pure Predictions is a free football prediction game: call the exact score of every match, earn points for every correct call, and climb the leaderboards against friends, clubs and everyone else playing. Here’s how a season works, step by step.

  1. Sign up free with just an email address

There is no password to remember and nothing to pay — sign in with a one-time email code or a passkey, then pick the nickname the leaderboards will know you by. Sign up free.

  2. Pick a tournament

The Premier League and EFL Championship run all season, joined by international tournaments such as the World Cup while they are on. You can play as many at once as you like, and you join a tournament’s leaderboard automatically the moment you save your first prediction in it. See what’s open for predictions.

  3. Predict the exact score of every match

Call the scoreline for each fixture before kickoff — predictions lock when the match starts. Every prediction can earn up to four points: one for the correct home score, one for the correct away score, one for the correct result, and a bonus point when your scoreline is exactly right, so near-misses still score.

  4. Play a booster card each week

Every tournament week deals you a hand of four booster cards from a pool of eight. Play one on a match and you earn bonus points if its event happens — a red card, a clean sheet, four or more goals, an early goal and more.

  5. Predict the final league table

Before a competition’s deadline, predict where every team will finish. The standings prediction is scored as a competition of its own, with its own leaderboard settled at the end of the season.

  6. Watch your points land live

Once a match kicks off, your points update in real time as the goals go in. Live match boards show how everyone’s predictions are faring while the game is still being played.

  7. Play against friends, clubs and everyone else

Create a private league and share one invite link to turn any leaderboard into a friends-only table — like an office sweepstake without the spreadsheet. Join a club of up to eight players whose five best weekly scores count together, and chase the weekly honours and the season-long leaderboard against the whole site. Create a private league.
